• Can I sleep on this pillow?  Yes, you can sleep on this pillow.  We make pillow inserts for standard 20x26, queen 20x30, and king 20x36 sham sizes.  We also make these in oversized pillows if you prefer a firmer pillow: 21x27, 21x31, or 21x37.  Simply cover with a normal pillow case.  
• I often see terms like synthetic down, down alternative, and micro denier.  What are these, and what is the difference between them?  These terms typically refer to the same thing: a man-made polyester fiber that is extremely fluffy and has the same weight and feel as a traditional down pillow made from goose down.  However, unlike goose down, our synthetic down pillows are cruelty-free and do not have feathers that can make their way through the pillow shell and poke you.
• Are Pillowflex pillows heavy?  Yes, Pillowflex synthetic down pillow inserts typically weigh 2.5 to 3 times more than a traditional polyester pillow.  Many brands claim to be synthetic down but are not using true micro denier fibers that weigh more.  If you find a competitor pillow at a lower price, it is highly unlikely they are using real synthetic down.
• Are your pillows really made in the USA?  Yes, we make our own outer covering known as the pillow tick.  We also use American-made fibers.  And of course, we fill and finish our pillows at our factory near Atlanta, GA. 
• Do you use Virgin fibers?  Yes, after 40-plus years of making pillow inserts, we have found that only virgin polyester fibers provide consistent loft in pillow inserts.  
• Will this give my pillow the designer "karate chop" look?  Yes. The soft, pliable synthetic down fiber allows the pillow to be shaped into the popular designer "karate chop" look while maintaining its appearance much better than many traditional polyester inserts.
• Should I buy an insert larger than my pillow cover (sham)?  Yes, please use the sizing images provided.  Typically, a small square pillow needs an insert 1" larger than the sham. For sizes 18x18 and larger, we recommend going up 2".  Rectangles should be 1" larger on both length and width or two inches longer.  
• Is this better than feather or down pillows?  Yes, feather pillows are crunchy and will eventually poke you.  Unlike goose down, these pillows are cruelty-free.  And there is no odor.  
• Why do interior designers recommend Pillowflex inserts? Because of how the pillows hold their weight and how the weight of the pillow gives shams a luxurious feel.  
• Machine Wash vs Spot Clean.  Why do some pillows say machine wash but others say to spot clean only?  All are machine washable, but large pillows can hold a lot of water weight and throw your washing machine out of balance when the spin cycle starts.

Rectangle Inserts:

• For a traditional fit, choose an insert the same size as your sham.
• For fuller corners, choose an insert that is 2 inches longer.
• For a firmer feel, size up by 1 inch on each side.

Square inserts:

• Shams 18x18 and smaller need an insert 1" larger than the sham. For example, a 17x17 sham needs an 18x18 insert.
• Shams 19x19 and larger need an insert 2" larger than the sham. For example, a 20x20 sham needs a 22x22 insert.
